Many customers bring back shoes that they have been wearing for a good twenty years, bearing the sheen of time. To enable these customers to find the same colour tones on new shoes, Olga invented ‘Venezia’ leather in 1980. This is an extremely supple natural leather, specially tanned to allow uniquely transparent colours.
A finishing sheen that exalts the colour and makes it transparent. Gorged with essential oils, the sheen is deep and shimmering, like Japanese lacquer. Each pair of shoes requires one hour’s work by a craftsman to obtain the final shade. In this way Berluti constantly cultivates its exclusivity, as the colour of each pair of shoes is unique.”
